I’ve taken great pleasure in helping to re-do my Mommom’s back room. Not only did it give me her remnants to turn into my new bedroom area rug, but it’s so fun watching the room come together in such a chic and modern way.
She just added two more pillows to the one we bought together,
by my main man Jonathan Adler, and they rock the couch.
and are reversible! And while in the back room, Mommom had me try on some of her most prized vintage pieces. We are talking 70s Bill Blass and such.
And I have to say, I had a ball playing dress-up. But getting Mommom to figure out how to work my iPhone camera? Not so easy….there is one clear picture in the bunch, and it was taken by my not-quite-4 year old. While this site is more about home design, it doesn’t hurt to have a little fashion design in here every once in awhile, right? Especially when we are talking gold lace and sashes and shoulder pads and mink.
The photo below is what my mom and aunt used to call the Princess Dress and is Bill Blass original. And my daughter took this photo.
So, more fun in the back room was had. Design is design is a design. Said Gertrude Stein. In her own way.
